Description

Jin was full of wanting to become a powerful cultivator, a master among masters, and do whatever it is the dickbags who run this place do, which is presumably to be dicks, dickishly. The second volume of the blockbuster progression-fantasy series—with more than 20 million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible! And if this was enough to crush his spirit, and ask to leave… Then he was not meant to be a cultivator in the first place. My hoe bit the earth and never dulled, reinforced as it was by my qi, tearing into it with more speed than any ox could generate.

If you are into slice of life, with a lot of focus on romance then I would certainly give this book a go. Dear old Jin was essentially a servant right now anyway, and had to do every task that the other people offloaded onto him, while harboring vengeance and hate and angst. Thank you for your hard work thus far and this "review" is just me ranting a bit because its just so damned a rare and pleasant suprise to actually be suprised I feel, especially from a genre thats been at my "avoid 9 times out of 10" regardless of any positivity surrounding the work. Now also include Farmcore/survival/climb the tech tree/crafting elements and little touches of a dozen other flavors, wink at the camera, and occasionally lighten things up with insights of profound wisdom. Were I not currently living hand to mouth I'd happily dish out a few bucks a month to simply be one among surely a growing number a people wishing to show our support to your creative endavours in writing.

The supporting cast life solely revolves around Jin, the main character, and makes everyone feel one-dimensional. Both she and Tigu have regular spars, though they also both have their own demons that they’re contending with. The "pacifists are the best fighters" trope is one I never liked, and sadly it's part of this story too.

Jin Rou didn’t want to be part of the struggle and greed of being a cultivator, striving to reach the heavens at the expense of smashing everything else down. Which allows him to hang a giant nope sign on the future he's currently on and find somewhere to live quietly on his own farm. Beware of Chicken 1 could have been a standalone novel and it didn’t really cry out for a sequel, though it did leave itself open for one. While he works on the farm by planting rice and building himself a small house, he meets the locals in the nearby town as well as people and animals coming out of the nearby forest.

And it's actually cool, how you implement Taoism, in story, because many cultivations are based on it, but cultivators themselves, don't stuck to this pathway. It was right against my chicken coop, so I could hear if there were any predatory interlopers during the night, but the foxes and the wolves had yet to notice my intrusion, and the prey animals that I had. And I'm getting the fuck out of here, and far away from all the sword formations and Grand demonic dick punches or whatever the fuck these chuuni bastards spout. Not many details are known about Rou Jin’s life before transmigrating, which he refers to as the Before, beyond the facts that he was originally from Canada, he had a good relationship with his family and he has had experience working in a farm.
