it got a little disjointed as no sooner you were warming to a thread/characters then it jumped elsewhere, partly related to the ongoing plot but in others (MOSTLY) I thought. I don't understand how Henry VI can be the MC in this thick novel, maybe the story will focus more on his wife, Marguerite d'Anjou?

If you were a fan of Conn Iggulden’s first book in the “Wars of the Roses” series “Stormbird”, I strongly encourage you to read “Trinity”. Families with royal blood in their veins are fighting amongst each other as King Henry VI has fallen ill. His writing style is accomplished yet accessible and he manages to bring the past tantalisingly to life.

With England's territories in France under threat, and rumours of revolt at home, fears grow that Henry and his advisers will see the country slide into ruin. In 2017, Iggulden released the first book in the fantasy series Darien: Empire of Salt, under the pen name C. Derry Brewer is a unique and complex character who works in the shadow to make sure that his king and his country are well protected. It’s been said that Game of Thrones is the Wars of the Roses written as fantasy: this is the real thing, more glorious [and] more passionate. I acquired it shortly after its release when I attended a talk by the author at Sheffield central library.

BOOK IS IN A PROTECTIVE CLEAR ACETATE COVER, ALL BOOKS DESPATCHED WRAPPED IN BUBBLE WRAP AND A CARDBOARD BOX. These battles and the names of the men and women like Richard III, Margaret of Anjou, Henry VI, Richard Duke of York, Edward IV and the Tudors are etched into the history of England. His fiercely loyal wife and Queen, Margaret of Anjou, safeguards her husband's interests, hoping that her son Edward will one day know the love of his father.

A Fine SIGNED UK first edition, first printing hardback - in a fine unblemished and unclipped dustjacket - All my books are always securely packed with plenty of bubblewrap in professional boxes and promptly dispatched (within 2-3 days) - SIGNED BY CONN IGGULDEN via a tipped in page - Pictures of the book are available upon request. A NICE CLEAN AND TIGHT UK FIRST EDITION FIRST PRINT COPY OF STORMBIRD BY CONN IGGULDEN, WHICH CONN HAS VERY KINDLY SIGNED AND LINED AND PRE PUBLICATION DAY DATED TO THE TITLE PAGE. If you know the history you know that this is a resounding win for Edward ending with the utter defeat of Henry’s forces, and leaving England with one strong king and thousands of dead bodies. Gritty and realistic, the words touch upon all senses so as to paint a very real picture of what 1400 England was like.
