Description

If you follow my blog regularly, you know that I am a huge fan of All Things Chocolate. And now it is time to add these Oreo pops to the list. They are so awesome and make perfect gifts, or treats for game days, birthday parties, etc. And of course, I won’t tell if you make them all for yourself. I mean I usually eat a bunch before giving them away. These make great party favors or small gifts for friends and family. Another idea is to arrange the chocolate covered Oreos on a decorative platter or in a holiday-themed tin for serving at parties or gatherings.

When adding toppings like sprinkles or crushed nuts, do so immediately after dipping while the chocolate is still soft. The short answer is yes, you can freeze chocolate covered Oreos. However, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure that they maintain their taste and texture after being frozen. When it comes to thawing the frozen chocolate covered Oreos, it is best to let them thaw in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving. This will allow them to thaw slowly and prevent the chocolate from melting and becoming messy. Step 1 – Place the melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl, measuring cup or mason jar. Heat for 20-second intervals, stirring between intervals until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Continue microwaving and stirring in short intervals until the chocolate is fully melted. Melt the Chocolate (Double Boiler Method) Oreos - if you don’t have name brand Oreos on hand, you can use any similar sandwich cookie. You can also swap them out for a gluten-free version if necessary. This is just an overview; the full ingredients and directions are in the recipe card toward the bottom of this post.

Use a fork, dip one Oreo cookie at a time into the melted chocolate, flipping it to coat completely. Customizable– We’re making Valentine’s Oreos, but these are simple to customize for any holiday or occasion. See our tips and suggestions below. I love experimenting with different flavors and toppings for chocolate dipped Oreos. Here are some ideas to try: In summary, freezing chocolate covered Oreos is a great way to make them in advance or store leftovers. Just be sure to store them in an airtight container, freeze for no more than 2-3 months, and thaw slowly in the refrigerator before serving. FAQSprinkles– to decorate, use your favorite sprinkles! Or if you don’t want to use sprinkles, drizzle with white chocolate instead. The sprinkles that I’m using in this recipe, are Wilton holiday mix sprinkles (a mix of traditional medley and jimmies). For the best results when making chocolate covered Oreos, it's important to choose the right chocolate. I recommend using high-quality melting chocolate or candy melts specifically designed for coating and dipping. To help with placing the small sprinkles onto the cookie, you can use long tweezers. Do not squeeze it too tight as the sprinkles may break easily or scuff.
