The Samsung QN900A is up to date with most of the latest gaming tech in Auto Low Latency Mode, Variable Refresh Rate, High Frame Rate (120Hz), as well as AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro for reduced visual tearing and stuttering. Samsung TVs are also compatible with Nvidia G-Sync but not certified. With the arrival of its QN900A range, Samsung has essentially stepped into a new television category, giving its already high-end 8K displays a rather significant Mini LED upgrade. Because of this, Samsung's Neo QLED 8K lineup doesn't come cheap.

The first thing you'll notice (or maybe not notice) is the TV's nearly non-existent bezel, which has been reduced to less than a millimeter (0.9.mm) – an achievement made possible by a new and exclusive matrixing technology that's said to shrink the space between where the pixels at the edge of the display end and where the bezel begins. The effect is brightness, sharpness and contrast are fed with more information, and watching standard definition content may not initially ‘wow’, until you realise the TV is guessing about 30 million pixels. With that in mind, the results are mightily impressive. We uploaded the initial brightness measurements and uniformity photos for the Accelerated Longevity Test. The very latestin Samsungs line of flagship 8K Neo QLED range TVs and quite simply one of the best TVs money can buyis the stunning QE65QN900ATXXU, availableat the best price in the UK courtesy ofElectronic World TV, the home of cheap tvs. And heading the line is Samsung. The South Korean electronics firm has aggressively pushed the format, driving prices down to more agreeable if not always affordable levels. The addition of Mini LED to the 4K QLED range worked wonders, and with this 8K model, the brightness in combination with the Quantum Dot panel is even more brilliant to behold. The colours in The Pursuit of Love (iPlayer, HLG) are varied and natural in appearance, the Christmas dinner scene in the first episode looks absolutely dynamite. To compliment such stunning picture quality, the QE65QN900BTXXU features an Infinity Screen for total edge-to-edge viewing. As the bezel is so thin, nothing gets in the way of the 8K picture – so you can enjoy everything without distractions. Entertainment Options

The Samsung QN900A has excellent SDR brightness, although it's not quite as bright as the Samsung QN800A 8k QLED. It has a fairly aggressive ABL, so scenes with large areas of brightness are dimmed, as seen in the peak and sustained 100% windows. That said, it still hits around 800 to 900 nits with real scenes, so it should be more than bright enough to overcome glare in a bright room. Update 08/02/2021: We retested the local dimming feature with the latest firmware, version 1511 and updated the local dimming videos. Local dimming is slightly better than before, as the algorithms seem to spread bright objects across more dimming zones, reducing the appearance of blooming slightly. Overall zone performance hasn't changed, though. With such stunning pictures, you’ll need sound to match. Equipped with Super Surround Sound, there’s 12 multi-directional speakers built into the TV to deliver immersive 3D audio. Powered by Dolby Atmos for the first time, you’ll get the ultimate cinematic surround sound experience. Rain-soaked streets or the roar of a crowd, the audio will feel so real, it will feel like you’re actually there. HDR10, HLG and HDR10+ are on the menu, with Samsung’s 8K TVs featuring HDR10+ in its adaptive form, too, which finesses the TV’s brightness in bright and dark rooms. Staggering describes the level of detail the QN900A conjures. The increased resolution and pixels produce sharpness and clarity beyond 4K TVs. Detail extracted from faces, costumes and production design is phenomenal, with close-ups revealing every facial detail. As an advert for 8K’s benefits I am completely sold. It's likely going to lose its spot on our list of the best TVs to the newer Samsung QN900B 8K QLED TV that boasts new Shape Adaptive Light technology and built-in up-firing speakers that allow for immersive Dolby Atmos audio without the need for a soundbar, but it's still a top-performing QLED TV that's worth the cash. Samsung QN900A Neo QLED 8K TV: price and availability The 8K models boast the Neo Quantum Processor 8K that uses 16 neural network models to upscale images. As Samsung explains it, the 16 networks are 16 cooks in a kitchen, each with their own speciality as opposed to one or two cooks working on a range of recipes. Focusing on one thing brings specificity. Multitasking between apps, menus and settings is a breeze for the QE65QN900ATXXU as well as optimising the picture quality for omtimum viewing at all times. While LG has hoovered up gaming features left and right, Samsung still has the edge with latency. At 4K I measured latency at 10.1ms and at 120Hz you can expect that to be even lower.

All the most popular apps and services are present and accounted for on Samsung's OS, and there's a dedicated Apps tile with further app suggestions which you can install. One of the big selling points of any 8K TV is how well it handles upscaling. and thankfully the QN900A does a great job of making content look crystal-clear without any artificial smoothing. Take the above image of Alita as an example – it's clean and sharp, yet you can still make out its fine, film-like grain.A press of the home button on your remote will see your favorite apps and sources pop up from the bottom edge of the display in a horiztonal line. View TV beyond all boundaries with this Samsung 65” 8K smart TV. The QLED display on the QE65QN900BTXXU offers a resolution four times higher that 4K, so you don’t just watch TV, you become a part of it. Innovative Technology
