Today's promise tells us that we belong to God and He delights to rest upon us. In the Old Testament, we read about the Holy Spirit coming upon people at certain times, but in the New Testament there is a whole new level of interaction with the Holy Spirit that we have a privilege of knowing. He lives in us. In John 14:23, Jesus said that not only will the Holy Spirit live in us, but Jesus and the Father would too! Jesus will come again and will take his own with him at the resurrection of the dead. He promised it just before he rose into heaven, and the last book of the Bible restates it:

Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.John 14:15-16 “If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever.”

For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you.”

Bible promises about God’s goodness

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Jesus promises that his Father’s house has many rooms and there is a place prepared for us with them in heaven (Jn 14:3). Whatever you’re facing, hold onto these scriptures on hope in the Bible and the promise that God is with you in your individual situation. Remember the time in the Bible when God gave Noah a rainbow as a sign that God keeps his promises. As He was faithful to Noah, He will be faithful to you. If you have believed in Jesus then you have received the seal of the Holy Spirit. This means that you cannot lose the free gift that has been given to you.

We live in a world that is full of darkness. Wars, rumors of wars, heartache and loss seem to abound all around us. If we focus on the darkness, we may get discouraged. However, the Bible says in Ephesians 5:8 that we do not live in darkness, but are called to live as children of light, living in the light of the Lord. That is why we need the help of the Holy Spirit. In Ephesians 3, Paul prays that we would be rooted and grounded in love and that we would have power to grasp how big and wide and high and deep is His love for us in Jesus Christ. Just as we could never count how many gallons of water are rushing over Niagara Falls every second, we cannot measure the love that God is pouring into our hearts by any natural means. This means that, though we suffer with him now, we are also co-heirs and will receive an inheritance in heaven in him for eternity. Spend some time imagining what it might be like in the Father’s house with many rooms. Live with him today, so that you can live with him forever. Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Matthew 28:20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. He predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will.”

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Galatians 3:29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Through the finished work of Christ he has adopted those who believe by him we cry, “Abba, Father” (Ro 8:15)! Settle it in your heart that you are a child of God and loved by him.John 10:10“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Here he says that he will come to our aid when we call on him so that we can give him glory. This is a very good deal for us, and a solid promise. God will help his children when we need him. Why? He loves us, and it brings him glory. Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” The fact is that anyone who chooses to withhold forgiveness has not been to the cross, and has not allowed God to forgive them of their own sins. Not being willing or able to forgive those who have sinned against us is a sign of unbelief. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
