About this deal

In Indian restaurants, poppadoms and starters are served with a trio of dips. This crunchy appetizer simply wouldn’t be complete without poppadom condiments or sauces! Apart from the flour, you’ll need some water, salt, and some oil for rolling out the dough more easily and also for frying the finished wafer.

If you enjoy eating tiny fish, heads and all, then head to Aldi, they have two lots of whitebait, one is just lightly dusted and the other is lightly dusted with lemon and pepper seasoning, both use a gluten free coating. This is the first time a whitebait has been available that is gluten free (it has been in about a month now), all others have used a wheat based coating. But first of all, what is an ‘accidentally’ gluten-free product? Can you believe that the muggle onion bhajis are gluten-free? Of course, because I can’t tolerate onion in any quantity, I’ll have to miss out on these… accidentally’ gluten-free products in Tesco – everything from ravioli to onion bhajis. It’s easy to miss them unless someone pointed them out, so here’s me pointing them out!

In the UK, if a product has less than 20 PPM (parts per million) of gluten, it’s considered safe for Coeliacs and those on a gluten-free diet. Oil for frying– I have used vegetable oil, but you can also use sunflower or canola oil. Olive pomace oil is an option too but has its own flavour. I do not recommend mustard or coconut oil as they are strong-flavoured.
